How long does a pointe shoe fitting take? +

All pointe shoe fittings — whether it's your first fitting or a refit — are scheduled for 60 minutes. We never rush a fitting. First-time pointe dancers may need a little more time as we talk through the process and assess readiness alongside fit. Pre-pointe shoe fittings are scheduled for 30 minutes.

Does my dancer need teacher approval first? +

Yes — and we strongly encourage it. A dancer should be cleared for pointe work by their teacher before purchasing shoes. If you have a teacher recommendation letter or preferred brand list, please bring it along.

What should we bring to the fitting? +

If you're coming for a refit and already have pointe shoes that you love or that fit well, bring them with you to your appointment — your fitter can use them as a reference point to find the best match for you. This is also true if you have a shoe you don't love; your fitter can see how you're wearing them in and find a better option. Additionally, bring any pointe shoe accessories you currently use, such as toe pads, spacers, or any other inserts. Please also make sure your dancer comes wearing the tights they wear in class — this ensures the most accurate fit possible.

How should I prepare for my fitting? +

To get the most out of your fitting, plan to trim your toenails 48 hours beforehand — well-groomed feet make the process more comfortable for everyone. If you have any questions or concerns about pointe shoes, jot them down ahead of time and bring them with you. We love questions! If it's your first time being fitted for pointe shoes, don't worry — we'll walk you through everything you need to know from start to finish.

Do you fit adults returning to ballet? +

Absolutely. We welcome dancers of all ages and experience levels, from first-time pointe students to adults returning after years away. Foot needs change over time, so a fresh fitting is always worthwhile.

Is there a fee for the fitting? +

No — fittings are complimentary when you purchase your shoes from us. We believe great service should come standard.

We may not be the closest dancewear store to everyone, but our guests agree — we're worth the drive. Dancers and their families travel from across Texas and Louisiana for our professional pointe shoe fittings. Whether you're coming from San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, the Rio Grande Valley, or anywhere else in Texas — we'd love to be your fitter.
