What To Expect After Your Fitting

IMPORTANT - It is crucial for students to have their pointe shoe fitting approved by their teachers BEFORE sewing or wearing them.

Your teacher knows your level of technique, strength, and readiness for pointe work, and their approval ensures that you’re ready to safely dance en pointe. They can provide valuable guidance on the appropriate shoe style, size, and fit for your level of experience. Following your teacher’s approval process helps prevent injuries and ensures that you have the right equipment to support your dance journey effectively.

After your fitting, you should expect a period of adjustment as you get used to dancing in your new shoes.

It's common to experience some discomfort or pressure on different parts of your feet as you break in the shoes.

Take it slow and gradually increase your dancing time in pointe shoes to allow your feet to adapt.

You may also need to make minor adjustments to the shoes, such as adding padding or adjusting the ribbons and elastic.

Communicate with your teacher or fitter about any issues you encounter, as they can offer guidance to help you through the transition.
